Why are you trying to make your EV look like it has an ICE? The EV engine bay looks more like it has a gas engine than the Hybrid does! It also has the world’s most obnoxious start/stop tunes I have ever heard.
Semi-related I quite recommend TheTopher’s reviews. They aren’t very heavy on the details but they are very calm, laid back, and almost ASMR-ish. They are very relaxing reviews to watch.

Well yes, but most manufacturers are styling their plastic covers on transverse engines to look like longitudinal engines.

That EV has a longitudinal V6.

That is silly. But i do like how the small cover on the passenger side matches the center over. More cars should do that.

Longitudinal FWD is a thing though.

Well OBVIOUSLY that cover is
there to help reduce the noise from the electric engine.

As owner of the said vehicle I thought the same. But I think it keeps dust and dirt off the engine to help with minimizing heating, direct air into the engine for c ooling, and it looks better than with it off. Can’t see how this is a negative thing. Wished it had a f runk, but that’s not the cover’s fault.
On a side note, this car is awesome.

This is perfect because you simply take the covers off and store them in a garbage bag or something then when it’s time to sell you whip those bad bois out and you got a detailed engine bay.

Namely every single “real” Audi* with FWD (because they’re inherently designed for AWD, then altered). Better than transverse, for sure. Zero torque steer in most cases because the half shafts are symmetrical.
*I’m not counting A3, that’s really a Golf

Hyundai has a penchant for putting engine covers that imply a longitudinal engine underneath, on top of a transverse engine setup.

I don’t hate it.
In fact, I’d probably find an engine cover from an ICE, slap it on there, then confuse people at car shows.

VW/Audi longitudinal fwd sucks ass because it hangs the engine way out in front of the front axle . Terrible weight balance cancels out the equal-length half shafts. A longitudinal layout is not required for equal-length half shafts. Many transverse engine Hondas have them.
Honda also did longitudinal fwd better than VAG in several cars. T hey managed to get the engine farther back into the car by placing the differential underneath the engine block and running one of the half shafts through the oil pan. They used that setup in the 2nd gen Legend, OG Vigor, and the 1st gen RL and TL that replaced them.

HyunKia’s schtick with EVs is that they’re supposed to be as much like “regular” (i.e. ICE) cars as possible for EVs.

The ICE cover looks more EV ish than the EV cover as shown in the second image of the Hybrid version’s bay (the Niro doesn’t have a pure ICE version).

It’s to cover the electronics and protect it from when the radiator reservoir cap fails.... because it's faulty on mine.
